Weddings to Celebrate: Sara & Rico, Camp Lucy | Austin Wedding Planner
Sara and Rico. These two are special friends of mine, so it was such an honor to be a part of their wedding. I confess that I have been going through wedding convo/Pinteresting sessions withdrawal. We had so much fun!
They got married in July at Camp Lucy, one of my favorite venues. Sara wanted to blend their two backgrounds, so cocktail hour had a decidedly Mexican flair, a nod to Rico's heritage. There was custom-made papel picado hung from the rafters, empanadas and smoked tuna tostada appetizers, a refreshing margarita and Mariachis.
Once you stepped into the event hall (made with beams from an Amish barn, by the way, gotta love the details at Camp Lucy!) Sara's English heritage took over, with an English garden feeling in a gorgeous palette of greens and soft pinks, with touches of yummy-smelling lavender. As a fun way to bring in Rico's heritage to another part of the evening, they had a sopapilla bar, with freshly made sopapillas and yummy toppings like honey, whipped cream, hot fudge and strawberries. Everything turned out beautifully, even with a little rain, all because of a fabulous team of vendors--see the full list below.
Love you two, thank you for letting me share in your day. Many, many happy days ahead!
xo, Katie
