Weddings to Celebrate: Robyn & Zac

There is no higher honor than a referral, and I'm so grateful that Robyn & Marcy (Robyn's mother) were referred to me.  They are two of the most thoughtful people one could ever meet, and I had a blast helping them pull everything together for Robyn & Zac's big day.  Enjoy some eye candy from the lovely Nancy Aidee...

Happy planning!!

Paige & David fell in love in Denmark, and Hygge played a huge roll in their special day.  The ceremony was intimate and beautiful, and the reception was all about family, warmth, friendship and fun.  I was honored to help them plan everything, and I'm excited to share these images with you.  Sam Hugh took so many amazing images, it was hard to narrow it down.

Enjoy!!

The Knot's Best of Weddings 2017

We are honored to once again receive The Knot's Best of Weddings award for 2017! This award means so much to us because it's 100% based on our clients' reviews, not advertising dollars.

We have a long history with this award. The first year it existed, winners were actually given a score on a scale of 0-100 and the best scores were published in a special issue of The Knot magazine in 2007. We were thrilled to be the only wedding planning firm in the entire nation to earn a perfect 100! And here we are now, 10 years later, working hard for our amazing clients who trust us with the important details of their celebrations.

To our extraordinary clients - thank you!

Sneak Peak!! Ashley & Neal's Wedding At The Houstonian| Houston Wedding Planner

I have one word for Ashley & Neal's November wedding:  DREAMY.  I had so much fun helping Ashley and her sweet mother, Wendy, plan all the details of this incredible event.  Scott Konitzer of Blooming Gallery transformed the Houstonian Grande Ballroom with lush white carpet and draping and a clean palette of white, ivory and green.  Here are a few sneak peak pictures captured by the oh-so-talented Morgan Lynn of Morgan Lynn Photography.  Enjoy, and get inspired!!

This was such a fun wedding to plan!  I loved the lively and Kate Spade-inspired color palette of hot pink, turquoise, purple, yellow, and orange and black & white stripe accents.  And I loved planning with this family even more than I loved the bright color palette.  Feast your eyes on the pretty pictures captured by the oh-so-talented Tina Lau of Agape House Studio.  She did an incredible job capturing the feel and emotion of the day, along with all the pretty details.  Enjoy!!

Weddings to Celebrate: Lindsey & Randy

Lindsey and Randy's wedding was one for the books!  After a long and sweet courtship, they had a short three month engagement.  They came to me for help just two months out, and I was thrilled to assist.  However, the length of their engagement isn't what made their wedding so unique.  It was the number of receptions.  They were married in an intimate ceremony in Park City, Utah.  They had a small reception in Park City, and then two days later...we had reception #2 in Houston for their Texas friends and family.  But wait, there's more! (ha) The week after the Texas reception, they had  reception #3 in Los Angeles for their California friends and family.  What a whirlwind!

They hired three planners (one in each city), and Lindsey gave me one of the best compliments of my career.  She said I was the best of the three, and she wished I had planned all of the events.  I can not properly express how much her words meant to me.

Lindsey and Randy possess two of my favorite qualities:  They are both humble and kind.  They have great spirits, they are a join to be around, and I am forever grateful to have worked with them.

Here are some of the gorgeous shots Chip Gillespie captured for their Texas Reception.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Weddings to Celebrate: Leven and Jim at Le San Michele

The phenomenal photographer, Heather Curiel, referred Leven and her mom, Karen, to us because she felt our team would be the perfect fit. It is always such an honor when someone who's seen the best and the worst of wedding planners chooses to recommend YOU to their clients! Leven and Jim are in the tv/movie industry (True Blood, Hunger Games, etc) so they're on the road a lot, leaving the bulk of planning to Karen. Karen lives in Houston so she worked with Resha at our Houston office, while Jessica handled the execution for the Austin wedding. Our team had a blast working on this wedding, and are thrilled to relive every moment through the pictures. Enjoy!

Jessica

From the bride:

I knew exactly what I wanted down to every detail and my planners and florists nailed it. When I arrived, my breath was taken away at how accurately they were able to make my vision come to life! It was small and intimate and absolutely perfect.

Weddings to Celebrate: Megan & Stephen

There are no words to properly describe how much I adore this family.  I planned Jackelyn & Zachary's wedding back in 2012 and was THRILLED when Megan (Zachary's sister) asked me to help with the planning for her wedding.  You couldn't meet a nicer group of people, and I am honored to call them friends.  They are welcoming, wonderful, open, loving and full of fun.  And Megan's wedding was all of those things times a million.  Though it was easily one of the most beautiful events I've ever planned, it was incredible because of the "vibe" in the room.  From the guests to the food to the music playing, it was a fairytale event.  I'll let the pictures tell you the rest of the story.  (If you don't know it already, Chip Gillespie is the bee's knees.)

Happy planning!!

Engagement to Celebrate :: Kaitlyn & Jacob

Kaitlyn and Jacob met on their first day training for a mission trip that they had both signed up for. They were headed to teach an english summer camp for Chinese children in Beijing. During this training course and five-week trip overseas, their friendship blossomed. They supported each other in one of the hardest experiences they had ever encountered in their young lives. Upon returning to the states, their friendship grew into something more. Jacob confessed his feelings for Kaitlyn and even though she admits she was scared to take the next step, they finally agreed to go on a date.

Kaitlyn is going to school to become a secondary english teacher and Jacob will graduate with a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies in May. They are both students at Dallas Baptist University and passionate about helping people; especially through overseas missions.

They are extremely excited to finish school, travel more, and serve others locally and overseas. Their hearts are so big for the people and places that God puts on this earth.

They hope that their relationship is a testimony to God's faithfulness, and they are so thankful for the opportunity to love one another and build a life and family together.

Just like the rest of us, they know the wind could blow them anywhere... and that is the beauty of it all!

A Wedding Gift that #NailedIt

My husband and I recently moved, and we all know that the entire process can be a challenge! As newlyweds, we had boxed up a lot of our wedding gifts and waited to open and use them until we were in our new home.

A few days ago while I was unpacking a box in the kitchen, I pulled out one of the most heart-felt and exciting gifts we received! It came from a friend whom I had met in grade school. We were part of a club cheerleading team called "The Super-squad" in San Angelo, Texas.

Fast forward near 20 years later, I had no idea what I was in for when I began opening her gift to us.

On the outside it is an insulated & monogrammed tote, and on the inside the real fun began! There were 6 bottles of perfectly selected wine, each with a note tied around it's neck.

#1: "First Date Night" -

Little Black Dress

Wine - "Roses are red, violets are blue, throw on your little black dress and toast to a date night for two!"

#2: "First Fight" -

Relax

Wine - "When fights occur and tempers get hot, pour a glass and be thankful for what you've got. If you always agreed it certainly would be a bore. The marrying of a man & woman, surely there'l be more!"

#3: "First Home" -

Cul De Sac

wine - "The day you've dreamed of is finally here! The future that surrounds you with hope and fear. You've waited so long to finally plant roots, so toast with some wine and kick off your boots!"

#4: "First New Year" - Champagne - "On January first while sharing some kisses, drink this bottle to toast the new year as Mr and Mrs!"

#5: "First Anniversary" -

Monogamy

Wine - "You've been married a year, where did the time go? No longer newlyweds, now you're pros! Hope this day finds you in good health and spirit, keep saying I love you, one always needs to hear it. Now toast to this date, it's certainly not the last, and as you build your future don't forget about the past! Happy Anniversary!"

#6: "First Baby" -

Barefoot

Wine - "The news that a baby will soon share your life will make you a mother, not only a wife. You'll see them through good times and sometimes through bad, you're the loving mother and Nick the dearest Dad. Sadly he must drink this alone. As you sit with an empty glass, sit back and relax, nine months will quickly pass."

Now, if that isn't a great wedding gift I don't know what is! Pass the tissues please!

New Venues to Celebrate: Lawless Kitchen & Spirits

Looking to host an non-traditional rehearsal dinner, welcome party or any cocktail-style event?  Check out the new Lawless Kitchen & Spirits, located above Sambuca!  Jaime & the fabulous Crystal Ballroom / Sambuca team oversee Lawless as well.  She hosted an event last night, and I enjoyed every minute of it (the food and spirits were exceptional & the atmosphere is spot-on).

Happy planning!!

Justine and Tom - Garden Chic Wedding - Austin Hill Country

I first met Justine and Tom at his sister's wedding, where he was in need of help with a jacket button gone rogue. Little did we know I'd soon be helping him plan his own wedding!

I have so loved getting to work with this family again, and adding Justine to the mix makes it all the more sweet.

We planned a garden chic wedding in the Austin hill country over Memorial Day weekend, and despite a few curve-balls thrown at us by the weather (tornadoes and floods, eek!), we pulled it off beautifully.

Congratulations, Justine and Tom!

With love,

Jessica
