Hot Wedding Trends for 2008

These days you’re not just seeing new trends on the catwalks during New York City Fashion Week. Weddings and parties are driving new trends of their own! Here are some new wedding and party ideas for 2008:

  • Wedding Blogs: Something To Celebrate isn't the only one blogging about weddings. Brides and bridesmaids are blogging about their road to the altar as well. These blogs provide the wedding party and guests with up-to-date info on rehearsal and wedding decisions. Blogs also allow brides to get feedback on their ideas, themes, colors, dance music and much more. When everyone is actively participating in the decisions and feedback, guests feel more connected and involved with the couples as well.

  • Green Weddings: Weddings are another way to show how a couple is doing their part to save the earth. From renting a wedding dress and bridesmaids gowns (there are now upscale companies that will rent beautiful “green” gowns) to serving locally grown, organic food, there are so many ways to show off your earth conscious efforts!

  • Can't Choose? Pick Both!: Lastly, if you’re having a hard time choosing between the princess gown or that sleek vintage dress, wear both! It is becoming more common to see one style for the ceremony, and then a more dancer-friendly dress for the party. Can't buy two dresses? Then you can mix up your hair styles. Throw a sparkly pin in your hair, or change your updo to long flowing hair with a headband for the party.
