Weddings to Celebrate: Angelica and Matt, Emmaus and The Mansion at Judge's Hill, Hotel Ella | Austin Wedding Planning

Angelica and Matt are one of the sweetest couples ever, so obviously in love, the kind of love that truly honors the other person. They got married in the gorgeous Emmaus in Lakeway and had their reception at the elegant Mansion atJudge's Hill the first weekend in May. For their decor, they chose soft pink tones and romantic flowers like peonies (that smelled amazing!). With the twinkling lights at the Mansion, it was truly a magical evening. Angelica and Matt, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day, it was a pleasure to be around y'all .  I wish you many years of happiness ahead!

Enjoy these gorgeous photos by Caroline+Ben.

A cute favor idea...the couple lives in California and wanted their guests to enjoy some sparkling pink bubbly from their adopted state. So fun!

Isidora and Henry

One of my most favorite weddings of the year was Isidora and Henry's wedding at Mansion at Judge's Hill. This lovely couple incorporated a lot of elements from their culture into the wedding; which I love. Thanks so much to Stacy from SMS Photography for the amazing photos!

Weddings to Celebrate :: Kari and Cesar!

Looking back before moving forward.... one year ago today, I helped Kari and Cesar enjoy their wedding celebration at The Mansion at Judges Hill. I love this couple. We spent a lot of time together as I helped with most of the planning. I can't begin to describe how rewarding it is to see it all come together on the wedding day!

Thanks to facebook, I get to keep up with Kari regularly. :) A former client, and now a friend!

Thank you, Kari and Cesar, for trusting me with your celebration. Cheers to the end of your first married year!! Many, many more to come.

love,

Weddings to Celebrate :: Jessica and Michael!

Jessica hired me for day-of coordination, plus help finding her venue and developing design. At our first meeting, the thing she said that most stuck out to me was chandeliers..... Jessica LOVES chandeliers! Let the fun begin.

I knew Jessica would love The Mansion at Judges Hill. Not only was it just the right size for her guest count, but the ballroom has, of course, gorgeous chandeliers! Perfect.

Jessica and Mikey - thank you so much for trusting me with your amazing day. I really loved working with you, and was so impressed with your laidback attitudes throughout. Particularly impressive was the way Jessica handled the rain decision when I presented her with the forecast (chance of rain peaks at 30% right at ceremony time - chance guests getting wet, or move to a less-desirable but dry backdrop? Jessica definitely made the right choice.). And, who knew Jessica knew every step to Thriller!? Haha. :) Many blessings for you two. I have no doubt your marriage will be a happy one.

xoxo,
jessica

  • Where's home?
Austin TX

  • How long have you been married?
26 days and counting!

  • Where did you honeymoon?
We are hoping to take one next year. We never quite made it to that point of the wedding checklist, haha :)

  • What were some personal touches at your wedding?
We incorporated some of our hispanic culture because it's a big part of who we are and how we grew up. We had padrinos and did some traditional mexican ceremonies such as the lazo and arras ceremonies. We were able to modernize them a bit which was really nice. During the reception we played Tejano music and served traditional Mexican wedding cookies called Pan de Polvo alongside the cake.

  • What aspect of your wedding did you splurge on?
The venue, but it was completely worth it. We had a smaller budget in mind, but I was won over by the aesthetics of the MJH and the food turned out amazing. One guest even said it was the best ranch dressing he'd ever had. And that's just the dressing!

  • If you had to do your wedding planning over, what one thing would you do differently?
I could probably think of a few things like definitely get started on the DIY stuff earlier, etc. But as crazy as those last few weeks were, everything turned out beautifully and I wouldn't change a thing. Wellllll, OK maybe get the menus done earlier. Our wedding party would have appreciated that one. It was a long night!

  • Were there any surprises on your wedding day?
Does the weather count? It rained during our rehearsal and it was threatening to rain right at ceremony start time. Luckily it didn't. Glad I took that gamble.

  • What are some of your favorite wedding websites/blogs?
Anyone that is trying to DIY decor needs to check out www.save-on-crafts.com   They have almost everything and the prices are great.

  • When selecting someone to entrust with your wedding day, why did you choose Something To Celebrate?
STC was highly recommended by brides on TheKnot message boards. And being a TheKnot Best of Weddings pick 3 consecutive years doesn't hurt either!

  • Advice for current brides?
Procrastinators: Yes, you too can have a fabulous wedding in six months!! That is, with the help of Jessica Moore and STC. There's no way I could have done this without a coordinator. It is definitely an extra expense, but some things just need to be left to the professionals! Mikey and I (and our families!) were able to really enjoy our day and not worry about having to  "work" at the wedding.
