I love Anthropologie. And hair accessories.

I love Anthropologie (who doesn't??) - they take the unexpected and make it fabulous. Which translates well to wedding design!
Aaaand I love hair accessories. There was a time, many moons ago (I'm no spring chick), when I wore a different hair accessory every day. This was before I became a breeder - babies love to pull things out of mama's hair.
So imagine my joy when I stumbled upon this Anthropologie post on my facebook page this morning:
Besides reigning in those pesky strays, hair accessories are irreplaceable when it comes to injecting bold color and crafty texture into your everyday look. Knowing how to style your hair, however, can be tricky when sporting a specific clip, hat or band. Check out how we like to smooth and tease our coifs when it comes to donning spring's must-have hair accessories.

Epic Headband

Sleek ponytails and buns pair nicely with turban-style headbands, as they call to mind the just-combed, poolside 'dos of Palm Beach sirens.

Cassia Headband

Don't be tempted to tuck those locks behind your ear - statement pieces look best with tousled hair that falls toward your face.

Pearly Plaits Headband

It sounds somewhat oxymoronic, but leave the lumps and bumps when crowning your hair with a stretch band. A messy up-do completes the "spiffy in a jiffy" look.

Sparkle Bobbies & Glossy Clips

There's something old-fashioned and ladylike about wearing bobbies and clips in multiples. Try placing them at random in and around a low, twisty knot.

Ryegrass Cap

Nothing says retro romance like a slightly cocked (or backwards!) beret reining in a head-full of pin curls. For an unexpected twist, try borrowing your beau's jeff cap.

How will/did you accessorize your hair for your wedding day?

Loren and Derek: Married!

Ahhh Loren and Derek - I loved these guys! They're both musicians and teachers, an ode to my former life. They have such a fun and unique style, and theirs was a wedding of class. And the Umlauf Sculpture Garden was the perfect choice of venue for these two! Check out some of these great shots captured by Sweet Caroline:

ps - check out the awesome groom's cake! made to look like a wheel of cheese... love it!

Congratulations, Loren and Derek!!!
xoxo,
jessica

A picture is worth a thousand words... | Texas Bridal Headpiece | Wedding Planning

So I'm going to try to be brief...and succinct. Which may or may not work out so well. Let's try.

We all know that fashion makes rounds. Ask any teenager who is wearing leg warmers and neon slap bracelets and they'll tell you all about 80's fashion. Even if they weren't even AROUND in the 80's. To that end, women have been choosing vintage-styled veils for their wedding. Here are a few of my favorites from my FAVORITE website, Etsy

Photobucket

I love this veil from Etsy seller MyRakim. I love the red flower.

Ostrich feathers are huge right now. And this headpiece from QGDesigns is beautiful. Add a veil under her bun.

Photobucket

Another ostrich-type veil, this cage-cap is perfect for the vintage bride. And seller BrendasBridalVeils has a ton more to choose from. Plus, it's only $42.99! You can't beat that!

This vintage headpiece from Portobello makes me swoon. The crystals add a touch of sparkle, and the flower is beautiful in dark hair.

So those are my favorite head pieces. What's yours?
