If you are looking for a venue to host your wedding / reception, stop by Chateau Polonez this Friday evening for their open house. The gates open at 6:30 PM. There will be plenty of yummies … And Something to Celebrate will be there as well. Come out and meet us!
Happy Planning,
I enjoyed working with Dani and Hendrik to make sure their special day went off without a hitch. What a fun wedding! Here's an email I received from Dani (Bride) just a few days after her big day:

You have something to celebrate! We're here to lend a helping hand. Whether your celebration is a wedding, b'nei mitzvah, anniversary, proposal, gala, or a corporate event, we keep the planning manageable and the celebration enjoyable for the powers-that-be (you!).
We generally have two levels of service, customized to fit your needs and budget.
Wedding Coordinator - You can handle the planning, but you know better than to try to micro-manage the day-of. We'll handle the flawless execution of the event day details, allowing you to enjoy your celebration. Some companies call this their "day-of" package, but with Something To Celebrate, it includes so much more! Including some planning meetings and vendor recommendations, the Weekend Coordinator level of service is perfect for the client who wants to go it alone as far as planning, but needs a point in the right direction and someone to help cross the finish line. Prices are based on scope of services desired, starting at $2,500.
Wedding Planner - You want an event that reflects you, but don't have the time to pour over countless websites or attend meeting after meeting. We'll assist you with ever step of your planning - from selecting potential vendors to reviewing contracts. And, of course, we'll make sure the weekend of your event goes just as planned, and within budget.
from to-do to "I do" - Something To Celebrate
I had the privilege of coordinating Kristy and Shane's March wedding at Vintage Villas. Kristy was sweet enough to write a review after the wedding and I can't help but share this one line from her review,
"Jacklyn handled my wedding like a General would his army. She was on point at all times but with a smile on her face."
:) Enjoy some pictures from their special day!
Special Thanks to the Cast of Vendors
Awhhh. Just looking at these photos makes me smile. I loved this couple. Loved their families. Loved their friends. It was an honor to participate in their wedding. Special thanks to Julie Wilhite for capturing the day :)
Enjoy!!
I think this may be my favorite part of a Persian ceremony. Love the sugar :)
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Those are belly dancers. And OMG…it was FUN.

I am so excited for Michelle & Galen's wedding this weekend! They are getting married at The Houston Museum of Natural Science and afterward, they'll dance under the dinosaurs! It's going to be so much fun!
These two love birds are adorable and I can't wait to see Lori's work from the big day!

Ahhh I loved working with Leigh! Leigh's mom passed away a few years ago, but left an entourage of women to help Leigh in her absence. Each woman of this family was a delight to work with, and encouraged me in getting to witness the love of a family who knows how to rally behind each other. And this family is made all the better with the addition of Kristy, Leigh's new mother-in-law.
I designed and planned this wedding to be outdoors, but mother nature had other plans and, well, we all know not to argue with a mother. :) Indoors it was! And it was just as lovely, if I do say so myself. Take a look at the gorgeous details captured by Caroline + Ben.
Love,
jessica
ps - this wedding was featured on Project Wedding yesterday.
ps also - baseball fans, if you think you might recognize someone, the groom is Kyle Drabek, professional baseball pitcher and son of Doug Drabek.
Each bridesmaid placed a rose on the chair that would have been for Leigh's mom.

With each meeting I had with Linda and Michael, I grew to love them more and more! This beautiful couple wanted to have a party and celebrate the night away...so we did just that! We had beautiful spring weather and a flawless evening of dancing with plenty of entertainment. From a live performance for their first dance, to a slide show of the couples relationship, the entertainment portion of the evening ended with tiny show stopper named Enzo.
Take a look at the beautiful images Billie Roche captured of this amazing night. Cheers, Linda and Michael!

Personable, reusable, and thoughtful are all things you think of when choosing your bridal party gifts. There are so many different gifts that you can choose from. Here are a few gift ideas that will help you in your search. Good luck and have fun!
Here is a little iPhone photo sneak peek of Grace & Paul's wedding last month. I can not wait to share the amazing photos from Fotowerk Group in the coming weeks.
So excited to finally share some pictures from Jillian and Chad's November wedding at Mercury Hall! I had such a great time helping them plan their big day. Enjoy the pictures below captured by the talented, Taylor Lord!
My favorite part of wedding design is the reception layout. The layout you choose has a huge impact on the overall "feel" of the space. It can add interest and dimension, and it can turn an ordinary room into something extraordinary. Here are some of my favorite layouts from weddings past. Enjoy (and get inspired) :)
Happy planning!
Melissa and Jeremiah were married almost two weeks ago and while planning their wedding, I learned a {new to me} tradition. The German Bridal Cup has such a fun story and it adds such an interactive experience for your guests to watch during toasts. It's also a great homage to your family's heritage!
According to the legend, Kunigunde, a noble mistress in the town of Nuremberg, fell in love with a young, ambitious goldsmith and wanted to marry him instead of the many rich and titled suitors who already asked for her hand.
Kunigunde's father reluctantly made a deal with his daughter. If the goldsmith could make a chalice from which two people could drink at the same time without spilling a single drop, her lover would be freed and the couple could marry.
Inspired by his love, the goldsmith created a masterpiece. He fashioned a chalice in the shape of his true love with a hollow skirt that served as a cup, and upraised arms that held a bucket from which a second drinker could sip. With the challenge met, the nobleman freed the young man and allowed the couple to marry.
To this day, the chalice remains a symbol of love, faithfulness, and good luck and is used during the wedding toast.
